Awards & Contests
The Oregon State Society SAR & our chapter sponsor several contests and annual awards programs that allows students and educators to become more involved and engaged in the American Revolutionary period. These awards encourage civic responsibility and duty, creative and effective teaching practices for the classroom, and a deeper understanding of the complicated issues surrounding the war for American indepedence.
These youth programs begin at the local SAR chapter level and move along to the State Society and then to the National level during the scope of each annual competition, wrapping up at the annual National SAR Congress.
